From Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge Carty Unit
“Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge is 5,300 acres of protected habitat along the Columbia River floodplain. The Refuge is broken up into several management units. Two of these units can be visited by the public. The visiting hours of the Carty Unit are currently dawn to dusk. Check the website to verify current visiting hours. The Carty Unit- 28908 NW Main Ave. Includes the Refuge office, Cathlapotle Plankhouse, Oaks-to-Wetlands Trail, and the Seasonal Carty Lake Trail. The River ‘S’ Unit- 1071 S Hillhurst Rd.
